Prints, Papers & Borders
When thinking of your final prints, making the right decision is important but can sometimes be confusing. We're used to saying "yes" when the clerk at the drugstore asks us if we'd like "glossy" prints. Often these prints aren't even offered with or without borders.
At Bartholomew Wedding Photography we offer numerous finishes, with or without borders. Other surfaces are available as well. Our thinking is that for smaller prints (wallet size, 4x6 and 5x7,) a luster surface may be preferable as these prints might get handled more and are more resistant to some oils and liquids.
We recommend a matte surface for larger prints. While the color rendition between the two surfaces is the same, a matte surface will not give a reflection in most lighting situations. In addition, larger prints are more likely to be framed or put in an album and may be handled less.
All our prints use archival inks and papers and are guaranteed to last well into the next century.
